Schedule Development Tips…
-
- Keep project schedules simple
- Tasks names to be based on deliverables
- Tasks names to be descriptive nouns and begin with verbs
- Do not put check lists into schedule. Use note feature for including details
- Require project schedules to follow principles of “Dynamic Schedules”
- All individual tasks have dependencies (predecessors and successors)
- Chose estimates in durations or effort.
- All Milestone tasks include “Deadline Dates” and are 0 duration
- No constraint dates (or Minimum use of constraints)
- Recommend using the following % complete increments for project tasks:
- 25% – Work has started
- 50% – Work is half way completed
- 75% – Work is near complete
- 100% – Work is complete
